What to include

To get a useful answer quickly, a few lines help depending on what you are writing about.

A correction or a factual error

Name the page URL and the specific figure or statement, and — where you have one — the source that says otherwise. Corrections from readers and from working installers carry weight here; how they are handled is described in the Editorial Policy.

A privacy request

To exercise a data-protection right — access, deletion, correction, opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or any other right described in the Privacy Policy — write with the subject line “Privacy Request” and say which right you are exercising and which US state or country you are writing from, since the applicable rights differ. If you are submitting on someone else's behalf, say so and include their authorization.

Note that btuwise runs no user accounts and collects no contact details, so in most cases the only information tied to you sits with the advertising and affiliate partners named in the Privacy Policy rather than with us — we will say so plainly and point you to the right party.

A copyright notice

Include the URL of the material on this site, an identification of the protected work, your contact details, and a statement of your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized. See the Legal Notice for the full copyright position.

An accessibility barrier

Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology and browser you were using. These reports are treated as priority fixes — see the Accessibility Statement.

What we can help with

Questions about how a calculator works, where a figure comes from, or what a page means are welcome, and so are suggestions for guides that are missing.

What we cannot do is size or design your specific system, review a contractor's quote as a professional opinion, diagnose a fault in your equipment, or advise on a loan. btuwise is a publisher — it is not an HVAC contractor, engineer, installer or lender, and those decisions need a licensed professional who can see your building and your paperwork. The installation page explains how to line up local quotes.

Business and press

Press enquiries, data or licensing questions, and partnership proposals go to the same address. Note that advertising and affiliate relationships have no influence on rankings or recommendations, as set out in the Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure — proposals that assume otherwise are declined.
